Race For The Homeless
The Servant Festival Race for the Homeless kicks off 2 weeks of opportunities to serve others in our community on Saturday, Aug 7. The Race for the Homeless 2010 returns for its eleventh year to Marine Park in Vancouver, Washington. Once again, the race will benefit Open House Ministries. 100% of the race fee will be matched with a generous donation to Open House Ministries. Last year $6,000 was given to this organization that helps homeless families regain their independence.
REGISTRATION
Register at Marine Park on Saturday, August 7, beginning at 7am. Cost - $20
DIRECTIONS
Marine Park is located on the Columbia River just off of Hwy 14, halfway between I-5 and I-205. From I-5 go east on Hwy 14. (From I-205 go west on Hwy 14.) Take the Columbia Way exit south (towards the river) and turn east (left) on Columbia Way. Marine Park is at the corner of SE Marine Park and Columbia Way (Vancouver, WA 98661), less than one mile on the right.
PARKING
Parking is available within close proximity to Marine Park. There are also two lots immediately adjacent to the park, as well as a number of other lots nearby.
SHIRTS
A Servant Festival Race shirt is included if you pre-register by July 26. Race day registrations may also receive a shirt as supplies allow. Participants in the Kid Fun Run can purchase shirts in advance for $10. All shirts are available for pick-up on race day only.
AWARDS * GIVEAWAYS * TIMING
All finishers will receive a Servant Festival Race shirt (if pre-registered), along with lots of free stuff, food and information. The race course for the 5K Run, 10K Run and 5K Walk will be accurately measured and timed with split times called out at each mile.
COST
The cost of the 5K Run, 10K Run and 5K Walk is $20. Kid Fun Run and Fun Festival events are free.

5K RUN * 8:00AM
The course starts at Marine Park, loops around the Tidewater Cove/Water Resource Center area, and heads west along the Columbia River with a turnaround. The course is flat and finishes back at Marine Park.
10K RUN * 8:00AM
The course starts at Marine Park, loops around the Tidewater Cove/Water Resource Center area, and heads west along the Columbia River toward the Interstate Bridge with a turnaround near the south end of downtown Vancouver. The course is flat and finishes back at Marine Park.
5K WALK * 8:15AM
Walk along the Columbia River beginning at Marine Park, heading east by the Tidewater Cove area along new path extension to Wintler Park. Returning past the Water Resource Center. The course is flat and features many beautiful park and waterfront views, finishing back at Marine Park.
FUN FESTIVAL * 9-11AM FREE!
Various special activities and attractions are available for you and your friends. Bring the whole gang and enjoy food, entertainment, activities, and cheer on the racers as they cross the finish line!
KID FUN RUN * 9:30AM FREE!
This free run within the park is for children ages 12 and under. This is a non-competitive race - all participants will receive a prize. You are encouraged to run with your younger kids and cheer on the older ones. Shirts, if desired, need to be purchased in advance ($10).
OPEN HOUSE MINISTRIES
Open House Ministries in Vancouver enables homeless families to regain their independence. Each family agrees to participate in a program designed to assist them in resolving their homeless situation.
