"...to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor." Isaiah 61:3

Breaking Free

Breaking Free is a warm, safe and confidential support group promoting healing and hope for adult women who are recovering from childhood sexual abuse. You'll find encouragement in this safe and accepting group. Breaking Free meetings are facilitated by women who are familiar with the issues of sexual abuse, and can aid you in the healing process.

This support group is a faith-based group designed to complement individual therapy. Since the facilitators are not trained counselors, women are encouraged to receive individual therapy in addition to attending the group.

Features of our group:

  • Confidential
  • Prayer support
  • New information
  • Book study

What to Expect

Groups of 4-10 women meet weekly at New Heights Main Campus for a total of 16 weeks. Because of the sensitive nature of the group, all discussion is voluntary and remains confidential within the group.

An example of our regular meeting agenda:

  • Time of sharing
  • Receiving new information
  • Discussing the questions for the chapter covered that week
  • Prayer
